As a film photographer new to Austin, I am constantly thinking about which locations will be beautiful for shoots. As I am on walks, headed to dinner, my eyes are constantly surveying my surroundings & evaluating if the location will offer beautiful light & provide brand consistency. I love having a mix of established venues & also those little secret areas you stumble upon.
One of my favorite open spaces for engagement photos has to be the environment of the ocean. Even better may be a cliffside overlooking the ocean! It is romantic, timeless, and allows the couple to be the focus while playing up a simple element of interest in the background. As a fashion obsessed film photographer, I love that Missy is on solid ground so can play up the advantage of high heels on camera, which is the perfect statement with her midi length red lace dress.
