As a film photographer new to Austin, I am constantly thinking about which locations will be beautiful for shoots. As I am on walks, headed to dinner, my eyes are constantly surveying my surroundings & evaluating if the location will offer beautiful light & provide brand consistency. I love having a mix of established venues & also those little secret areas you stumble upon.
Rachel & Jonathan’s Austin Engagement was a little bit of both! We started at the beautiful Laguna Gloria at The Contemporary Austin. I love that Laguna Gloria offers lots of stone, European details & plenty of shade. The feel is very romantic, organic and offers a hint of a secret-garden. Rachel wore an effortless white maxi dress with lace & eyelet details and Jonathan was gentleman chic. From here we adventured to a nearby field to create a new environment that would be complimentary to Laguna Gloria, yet a little more untamed. This field nearby Austin’s Ladybird Lake was gorgeous. The greens are so summery & refreshing and Rachel’s lavender shift dress was the perfect, soft pop of color. The two were engaged in Austin a few months back & are planning for their beautiful Houston wedding.
